Summer is coming to an end & we are looking forward to a new school year to start soon!  We have been soaking up afternoons at the pool, early morning bike rides, & picnic lunches at the park.  But with school just around the corner, this former teacher is making sure that we sneak a little bit of time in every day to get ourselves ready for another school year.  For my two little ones, it’s getting them ready for another year of preschool.  This includes identifying letters and numbers, practicing tracing and writing, & working on our scissor skills.
With school starting soon, I decided to create a fun Back to School Scissors Practice for Kids to use with my kids to help get them ready for preschool.  Teaching kids to use scissors can be a daunting task!  I have learned that practice, practice, practice is the key to teaching my kids how to use scissors.  With the continued practice, my kids’ fine motor skills improve and they slowly become more accurate and confident with their scissors skills.  It’s something that is easy to practice because all you need to practice is a pair of scissors & some simple cutting activity ideas, such as this fun Back to School printable!
I highly recommend Fiskars Kids Scissors, the #1 teacher recommended brand in scissors.  For our house, Fiskars Kids Scissors are a must-have item to have on hand & for the back to school season.  Fiskars Kids Scissors are easy for little hands to use.  All Fiskars Kids Scissors have an innovative safety edge blade to help protect kids while cutting & a non-stick blade coating making it easy to cut through materials with sticky adhesives, such as glue and tape.  We are excited about the fun new line of designer scissors that just came out from Fiskars, making cutting just a little more fun!
The kids love getting out the scissors & cutting away and thankfully, their scissors skills are improving day by day.  Now with back to school season upon us, we hope that these simple scissors practice pages will help get your kids “scissors ready” for another fun school year!
